SwiftBroadband is designed to meet the demand for
more bandwidth across all areas of aviation - as well as delivering the same
high-quality voice communications that are customary from Inmarsat.
Enhanced data services
SwiftBroadband allows more simultaneous users and
more demanding applications. Rates can be increased further by using
parallel channels and data compression.
It supports both IP and circuit-switched
applications, with a choice between contended services and data streaming on
demand.
SwiftBroadband enables all key cockpit and cabin
applications, including: telephony, text messaging, email, internet and
intranet access, as well as flight plan, weather and chart updates.

Compatible with government-grade encryption
and secure communications standards, including STU-IIIb, STE, Taclane, KIV-7 and
Brent.
Following the successful launch of the third
Inmarsat-4 satellite, SwiftBroadband is now available globally, except in the
extreme polar regions.
