Iridium Africa voucher (300 minutes-1 year validity)
Iridium has introduced a new prepaid voucher for the Africa region numbering up to 300 minutes at extremely attractive rates. This voucher uses the regular (315) prepaid SIM cards. The Africa voucher has two zones: “Africa” and “Outside Africa”. The Africa zone is defined by the following countries:
Algeria Angola Benin Botswana
Burkina Faso Burundi Cameroon Cape Verde
Central African Republic Chad Comoros Congo
Dem Republic of Congo Djibouti Egypt Equatorial Guinea
Eritrea Ethiopia Gabon Gambia
Ghana Guinea Guinea-Bissau Ivory Coast
Juan de Nova Island Kenya Lesotho Liberia
Libya Madagascar Malawi Mali
Mauritania Mauritius Mayotte Morocco
Mozambique Namibia Niger Nigeria
Sao Tome and Principe Rwanda Senegal Seychelles
Sierra Leone Somalia South Africa Sudan
Swaziland Tanzania Togo Tunisia
Uganda Zambia Zimbabwe
To call using the cheapest calling rate, a call will have to originate within the above Africa zone. It was possible before to call from outside the area to Africa and rates would fall under the rest of the world prices but Iridium has discarded that option.
A new prepaid customer simply requests that the SIM be activated for the Africa pricing plan. If you want to convert an existing SIM to the prepaid Africa Plan, the Africa voucher can be reloaded on existing prepaid SIM cards. However, any credit left on the original prepaid account will be lost at the moment of conversion. It is not possible to load Africa initial loads onto normal prepaid activated cards; only reloads will work.
The total number of units on the Africa voucher is 7,200 and it has a 12-month validity. For a call to a landline, Iridium charges 24 units instead of the customary 60 units for regular vouchers. For mode detailed rates, please contact us.
