The IsatPhone Pro provides the ultimate combination of a robust handset
that is easy to use, with long battery life, a reliable network
connection with clear voice quality and global coverage. It features an
intuitive GSM-style interface. The handset has a larger high-visibility
color screen that makes it easy to see in bright sunlight and a larger
keypad that makes is easy to dial with gloves on. It contains a GPS,
allows to sendand receive text emails and SMS.
The IsatPhone Pro is dust, splash and shock-proof, with an ingress
protection rating of IP54. The handset can operate at the widest
extremes from 020°C to +55°C. It can also tolerate humidity from 0 to
95%. The voice quality is clear and speech can be easily understood
with the 2.4 kbps voice codec.
Inmarsat has one of the most reliable satellite communications network
in the world. The IsatPhone Pro operates on geostationary satellites so
there is significantly less possibility of calls being dropped. The
IsatPhone Pro can be used WORLDWIDE, Except the North and South Poles,
using Inmarsat´s latest generation I-4 satellite over the Indian Ocean
Region. The three Inmarsat-4 satellites have an expected operational
lifetime into the 2020s.
