GmPRS Postpaid Service
GmPRS stands for: Geo Mobile Packet Radio Service. Thuraya is the first Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) operator providing this service in addition to basic circuit switched services on a handset. It is an IP-based packet data service via the Thuraya satellite at speeds up to 60/15 Kbps download/upload using Thuraya’s second generation handsets. Its “Always on” principle means that you can connect as long as you want and pay only for data sent or received.
There are three GmPRS Postpaid Price Plans:
1. GmPRS Light: $20

2. GmPRS Smart: $55

How to connect to GmPRS:
• Get your SO-2510 or SG-2520 GmPRS enabled. You need to make sure your firmware version is above 5.7 and you should go to http://www.thuraya.com/content/453.html#software for the update.
• Activate ThurayaGmPRS on your SIM under the desired tariff plan through XSAT.
• Position the handset towards the satellite to get the best signal.
• Connect the phone to your laptop and access the GmPRS network.
• Launch your Internet Browser and enjoy Mobile Satellite Internet.
